On April 25, 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in Future Scope Quest 2024, thanks to Creative Tech Hub Caribbean. The event aimed to inspire young girls from various schools in Paramaribo to explore careers in the ICT sector. It was an exciting day filled with presentations, demonstrations, and a lot of learning.
I was thrilled to share my passion for animation with the girls. I explained what animation is and how it’s used in movies, video games, and advertisements. To make it engaging, I conducted a live demo, showing how a simple idea can turn into an animated sequence. The girls were fascinated, and their excitement was contagious.
I also shared practical tips on how they could start earning with animation even while still in school. I talked about various platforms where they could offer their skills and encouraged them to explore their creativity.
The event also featured other incredible presentations. Sherani Kalpoe delivered a session on digital marketing, explaining how social media and online branding can be powerful tools for personal and professional growth. Her practical tips and strategies were a hit with the girls.
Janella Ramdas gave an engaging talk on website design. She showed the importance of having a strong online presence and demonstrated how to create stunning websites using user-friendly platforms. The girls were thrilled to see how they could build their own websites to showcase their projects and ideas.
As the day came to an end, I felt a deep sense of satisfaction. The girls left with new knowledge and inspiration, ready to explore careers in ICT. The connections they made and the skills they learned will undoubtedly shape their futures.
Participating in Future Scope Quest 2024 was an amazing experience. It was a day of inspiration, learning, and empowerment, showing the next generation of young women that the future of tech is bright and theirs to shape.
